Peace family, do you ever have one of those days? Are you having one today? We all have them, sometimes!
You’re a little under the weather, getting over (or coming down with) something, and you don’t feel 100% yourself. You set an alarm (incorrectly) for something important, and by the time you figure out that the time is wrong, you’re late by ten minutes. The food you pull out of the refrigerator, which you were planning to cook with, has gone bad. You have a giant hole in your good pair of pants, so you’re wearing something schlumpy to work. You’re already running late when the car key decides not to turn in the ignition, then you have to wait for a huge, slow truck to pass. Finally, as you get ready to make a turn, you wait to let a car behind you pass. However, at that point, they decide to wait and let you make your turn, so after both sitting for a while, when you finally make the turn, your coffee spills all over the inside of your car. Peace family, can you relate?
All of these things actually happened to me, today, and more! I don’t have those kinds of days very often, but when I do, it seems like everything is conspiring to go wrong!
The great thing about being a believer in Christ, is that he is with us on those days! His grace is still sufficient, and he is still Lord of the Universe! We don’t have to get frustrated or discouraged. Even if there are things that we aren’t thankful for, we have so many things that we can be thankful for. Every new moment is a fresh moment to give ourselves to God and live in that moment, even if things are going wrong. No matter what has already happened, we can decide, “Today is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in him.” We might face some frustrating circumstances, but we can always be thankful for him and the grace that he offers us, as well as the wisdom that he will pull us through.
Peace family, no matter what has already happened today, whether you’re having a great day or “one of those days,” my prayer for you is that the rest of your day will be amazing!
