Join Voices for Children and head coach of the Aggie baseball team, Rob Childress, for the annual Rob Childress Charity Golf Tournament at the premier Miramont Country Club on October 24th. The event benefits the nonprofit program Voices for Children which serves abused and neglected children in the foster care system of Grimes, Burleson, and Brazos Counties
The event will be a shotgun-style golf tournament with tee time at 11 AM. Coach Childress will kick-off the event and then join in the tournament and the reception after. Golfers will receive a Miramont polo and goody bag of snacks to help them bring their A-game while they’re out enjoying the Fall Texas day.
Legendary Aggie running back and local Bryan/College Station community pillar, Bubba Bean, has participated in the Rob Childress Charity Golf Tournament for the past few years. When asked why he enjoys playing in the tournament every year, he says, “I am a self-confessed golfaholic. It’s the only sport I can still play. So, if I’m going to be playing anyway why not do it with the intent to bring attention to the need to have advocates speak on behalf of the less fortunate children that have found themselves in the judicial system?”
After the tournament, there will be a barbecue buffet and live auction on Miramont’s beautiful terrace that overlooks the scenic course. The live auction will feature premier items you won’t want to miss. To finish the day off with a bang, Voices for Children will present their second annual helicopter golf ball drop.

Voices for Children, CASA of Brazos Valley is a nonprofit program that recruits and trains volunteers (Court Appointed Special Advocates or CASAs) in the community to advocate for children that have been removed from their home and are in the foster care system. Voices for Children serves about 180 kids in the Grimes, Burleson, and Brazos counties.
