Peace family, do you ever just feel like your life is out of control?
Life can get pretty overwhelming.
Maybe your life feels out of control with eating, spending money, Netflix, or spending time on the computer. Maybe relationships feel out of control; maybe you and your spouse or kids are struggling and not where you should be, or if you’re single, there doesn’t seem to be anything you can do to find the kind of person you’d like to marry. Maybe your health or the health of a loved one feels out of control; you feel old, or you’re sick, or you’ve put off a dentist trip, something just hurts and you can’t seem to get it fixed, or you can’t heal someone you love. Or you might feel out-of-control mentally; maybe you are hurting emotionally, or can’t remember things like you used to, you never get enough sleep, or you are daunted by problems that seem to have no solution, and it’s frustrating. Maybe things seem to be falling apart around you; your car has problems, your roof has leaks, you have one or more broken appliances at your house, and pets and people (including you) keep breaking things around your house before you can fix them! Or maybe you are dissatisfied at your job, feel unsuccessful, are struggling to pay your bills, are exhausted from working too many hours, or are struggling to find a job. There are a lot of things that can get out of control, fast!
Peace family, what can we do when life feels utterly out of control?
Take a deep breath. Remember that God is so much bigger than our pipsqueak lives. We were never meant to hold full control of our lives, but instead, submit to God, who is already in control. He loves you and is even more interested in your welfare than you are yourself. The Bible says that God is working all things toward his glory, and he will never abandon us, no matter what valleys of the shadow of death we walk through. No matter what happens in our lives, God is not surprised by any of the curve balls that are thrown at us. Even if we are surrounded by what seems like endless noise and chaos, He will be there, holding your hand, and seeing you through to the other side.
Peace family, if you need hope and peace today, that is my prayer for you, and also that God will encourage your heart. No matter what you are going through, Jesus is a firm rock to stand on, and he won’t let you fall.
