Peace family, there are all kinds of fun things going on this weekend, including a golf tournament, a 3K and 5K walk and fun run, and the annual Kid Fish!
If you love to golf, you can support the Brazos Valley Fellowship of Christian Athletes at their annual golf tournament fundraiser. Coach Mark Johnson tells us the Ray Dorr Golf Classic will be Sunday and Monday at Pebblecreek Country Club, and special guests include Kevin Sumlin. He says there will be two flights Monday, one in morning and one in afternoon, and with a chuckle, he says you can also eat morning, noon and night and be set for the rest of the week. Proceeds provide scholarships to student athletes in Brazos Valley and help with the FCA camp in July. For more details or to register, click here and go to the FCA website.
Meanwhile, you can support underprivileged, local kids getting shoes for the school year at the “Walk With Pride” 3K walk and 5K fun run. Amber Cox with BCS Realtors says it’s this Saturday at 8:30 with check in at 7:30, at Wolf Penn Creek. You can register online by clicking here. Adult registration is $18, and registration for youth under age 17 is $13.
Finally, it’s also a great weekend to spend time with your kids at the annual Kid Fish! The Kid Fish is free, and will be this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Stephen C. Beachy Central Park pond. You can find more details and contact information on our calendar by clicking here.
