Hi Peace Family! Jami Mayberry here and I was thinking about how God continually works on us. It is a lifetime process. It probably won’t end until our time on this Earth is through. But that can be exciting too. Just to know He loves us just as we are but He loves us too much to let us stay that way. So, through life situations, trials, joys and sorrows He is shaping us to be more like Him. A better reflection of Jesus. I want that so much, don’t you?
While washing dishes the other day I was wondering how many times I had washed the same dishes. Holding different meals and food but the same dish. It must be hundreds. Over and over again. It seemed a bit redundant and pointless. But I realized I was looking at it all wrong. These dishes and silverware had served me well. I had fed family and friends, enjoyed holiday meals on them and generally lived out the moments of my life cooking meals for those I love. THAT is not pointless or redundant. These things are just the tools we use to nourish others.
Food is big in my family. Everything is centered around food. And you can’t have a fabulous meal or treats without dishes. Well, there are certain times when paper plates can be life-savers, but I am talking about the usual loads of dishes we all have. Then I realized how we are tools in God’s hands. He uses you and me as tools of His love and compassion. He has to wash us clean (many times over and over again in certain areas) to use us again in a powerful way.
So next time you wash or rinse your dishes I hope you are reminded that WE are God’s dishes. And He will be washing us and working on us all of our lives. It never ends. Don’t grow weary in well-doing, Peace Family. It’s an honor to be used in God’s Will for someone’s life.
