I felt it, last night as I waved goodbye to a friend in my front yard. I smelled it the other day. I’ve seen a little bit of it lately, in the colors of the sunset. Peace family, autumn is on its way!
Some of my teenage friends headed back to school today, and other local schools begin very soon. What a busy but beautiful summer it has been! There have been hard things and good things, but we have been so blessed with rain for most of the year, and the weather wasn’t so unbearably hot as it has been sometimes in the past.
Now, I am so excited to enter into autumn, with its cooler weather, scarves, sharpened pencils, high school football, crunchy leaves, apple cider, starry nights and golden hay bales!
Peace family, this is just a little reminder; if you can, let’s both set aside some time today to thank God for all of the good things that he has done through summer, all of our favorite summer things, and any trips that we took or victories we had. Then, let’s dedicate this next season to him, refocus on how he wants us to live, examine our goals for starting this part of the year well and preparing for winter, and thank him for our favorite things about the fall.
God is always the Lord of our lives, whether we acknowledge it or not, but I know that it can make a big difference in my life to take time to dedicate my plans to him, read the Bible, and take time to listen to however he might direct me in my next steps. May God bless you, Peace family, as we enter a precious new season!
