Peace family, today, I just want to say, “peace be upon you!”
The last few days have been a pillar-to-post style of running around, a real jungle-gym kind of swinging from one objective or urgent problem to another, with very little rest in-between! I started the day feeling worn out. Do you ever feel that way?
If this is how you feel, then let’s take a few minutes to celebrate today that God is good, and he is in control! The promises that He makes are true, and what he says about himself is true! The love that he has for you is true, too!
I took about ten minutes to just think about how much bigger he is than all of my issues, and my day has a completely different feel to it. I remembered that God is bigger than our country and all of its problems, bigger than our planet and all of its division and unrest, and bigger than the scope of our vision and hemisphere. He is longer lasting than all of human history; he was there during the crusades, the black death, the Nazi attempt to take over Europe, and before the Greek, Roman, Egyptian, and Babylonian empires. He will still be there in the years ahead of us, forever, and he will always be just as good! It was a bit of a relief to remember all of that!
Peace family, just take a few minutes. Listen to something beautiful (I listened to “Panis Angelicus”; you can hear the King’s College choir sing it, here). Think about how amazing God is. Be still and know that he is God!
