Peace Family have you ever been in an uncomfortable situation or out of your comfort zone? Or maybe it’s a situation or a person that just gets on your nerves. It can be exhausting to deal with and sometimes puts you in a bad mood. We all have been there! But I’ve found a great analogy for you to keep in mind today.
Do you know how a pearl is made? It’s such a beautiful gem yet it is formed and made in such an uncomfortable way. It is a great example for us all. When a grain of sand or parasite gets into an oyster or clam it begins to irritate it’s tissue. It then begins to coat it with a liquid as a defense mechanism. Layer upon layer of this coating, called ‘nacre’ is deposited until a lustrous pearl is formed. A gem-quality pearl. The process takes several years…YEARS. What a patient, consistent and time consuming reaction.
So today, Peace Family if you have an irritant in your life just imagine a pearl. Pray that God will coat you with spiritual nacre to help you cope with your irritant. God cares. Even about the small things in your life. If it’s important to you it’s important to Him. Let your cares turn you into a beautiful pearl. It’s a great direction to focus your prayers. Try it!
