Have you ever noticed, Peace Family that when you are hurt or scarred by an event in life it makes you want to stop blooming, so to speak? I found this photo and it stopped me in my tracks. What do you see? A gnarled tree that looks odd? A rough, rocky landscape? What I noticed was that it was blooming beautiful green leaves. Although it had obviously been through some major ordeals it was still standing and thriving.
Have you been through some life challenges that have scarred you? I have. Abandonment by a parent as a child. Abuse and neglect in childhood. A very rough start and it was against the odds I would ever amount to anything positive…just too damaged in the formative years. But God looked at me and said, “I can use you, My Child, if you will follow me. I can heal your hurts and give you a new heart and soul full of my love.” And you know what? He did! Yes I have scars emotionally. Yes there are a few rough edges. But God’s grace can cover a multitude of sins.
Do you have any physical scars? I underwent cancer treatment in 2013 that left me different physically. Parts removed. Some parts not working like they did before and never will. My physical life was changed for the rest of my time on Earth. But you know what? God is still using me…scars and all! And He will use you too, if you will let him. Sure, some people when they look at you, will see what’s lacking or damaged or not the norm. But God never will. You are perfect in his eyes.
I encourage you today to bloom where you are planted and let the love and grace of Jesus flow through you. Even if you’re not perfect God can use you in a powerful way. We love you, Peace Family!
