In April 2020, Bo Rinehart of the alt-rock band NEEDTOBREATHE announced that he would be leaving the band. Bo has stayed quiet on the situation, aside from posting a message on social media following his decision to leave the band. Now, two years later, Bo shared some exciting news that he will be starting a solo project and releasing new music under the name “Coy Roy.”
“It’s been two years since I walked away. I can’t wait to share my journey with you and what I’ve learned from my lessons in the dark,” Bo posted on Instagram along with a reel featuring a snippet of his upcoming song, “I’m Right Here.” “I didn’t have a plan. Nothing was in the works. I didn’t leave to pursue making art. I’ve always made art. I didn’t need to leave the band or my livelihood, my identity, or bandmates for that matter, in order to continue doing what I’ve always done.”
“I had no plans on giving up the making of music,” Bo continued. “Music has saved my life at times. I am so grateful for music and writing, and making music is something that I don’t think I could live without.”
Bo concluded the post by inviting his fans to follow his new Instagram account, @COYROY.CO, to keep up with the latest on his music and follow along with his story. Read his full post here, and keep an eye on NewReleaseToday.com to stay up-to-date on his new project.
