There’s an unusual opportunity coming up to help battle breast cancer in the Brazos Valley.
Mark Owen with Brazos County Archery Club Breast Cancer Shootout says they’ll be hosting a breast cancer shootout February 12 at the local range at 1715 Lewis Street in Bryan. They’ll be working in conjunction with Pink Alliance, and everything they raise will go towards Pink Alliance. Pink Alliance not only supports Bryan-College Station, but also the nine surrounding counties in the Brazos Valley. He says they have the ability to reach out and help women get mammograms, or to take a mammogram machine to them, and look at the opportunity to help them possibly prevent breast cancer, or to battle breast cancer.
The archery range will open at 7:30am for people who’d like to warm up, and you can register there on site the day of. The shoot will start at 10am, and will be over once everyone is finished shooting and the raffles and prize giveaways are over. It’s $20 to shoot. Tickets for the bucket raffles will be $1-$5, as well as some playing card raffles, which will be $10. Participants will need to bring their own equipment.
