I was looking at my yard the other day and how beautiful things are in the flower beds. Have you ever wanted to bring some of that beauty indoors? It had to be done. So I grabbed my pruning shears and headed for the front yard. After arranging them in a vase their sweet smell filled the living room. It was like bringing some beauty indoors.
These roses are pink when they bud and once they open up show a beautiful yellow inside. I’ve never seen anything like them! As Christians we know that true beauty comes from within…from the soul. We let our light shine in such a way that it glorifies our Heavenly Father. (Matthew 5:16) But I think, if you can, it’s important to bring the beauty you find inside as well. Whether it be flowers from your yard or art your child has made to stick on the refrigerator. A kind word spoken in season can be held in your heart and give you strength for days.
So as we are shining our light, don’t forget to bring some beauty inside. Be selective, be careful and be wise but feed your soul. The word of God lasts forever, and even though flowers fade, they are still beautiful to bring inside while they last. There are so many things to thank God for this time of year. Surround your spirit with beauty!
