Peace family, today is the day that the Lord has made! What can you celebrate today?
There are so many good things, but we often become so busy that we don’t notice them, and we miss out on opportunities to be joyful and praise God. Yesterday evening, my very first plumeria bloom of the year began to open up, and I invited my friends to join me in celebration! One baked cookies, one ate a Snicker’s ice cream cone, one told me that her own plumeria saluted me… it was a little silly, but why not celebrate the precious and beautiful moments around us as we go through life?
God puts such love into everything; let’s embrace the joy that is available to us. Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable–if anything is excellent or praiseworthy–think about such things.” (NIV) Let’s do that, today!
Think of the small things that you can celebrate today. If you can’t think of anything, I invite you to buy yourself a treat, cook yourself your favorite meal, dress up (or dress down/cozy) and celebrate with me that my plumeria bloomed (for the first time in several years)! Life is worth celebrating, and I am so thankful for all of the unnecessary but wonderful treats that God gives us!
