Peace Family I think this photo captures the spirit of the 2016 Bush Library Easter Celebration. It was cold…around 48 degrees at 9 am, but people came out with their Easter baskets and kids and kites and happy faces, ready to have FUN! Many people were not expecting the cooler temps and did not bring coats so they had to be creative and make do with what they had. This dad made the best of it and adapted in the cold by putting on his daughter’s jacket to keep warm! It was so cute and fun that Brian from the Peace 107 morning show had to capture a photo of the moment.
We had hundreds of kids there and it was fun to meet several College Station Police Dept. employees, including two motorcycle officers who were there to let kids sit on their bikes and take pictures. We even got some of the Bryan Broadcasting crew on the motorcycles and had such fun! There were lots of families making memories on Saturday. There was a big rush once the Easter Bunny got there and the egg hunt happened around 9:45 am. There were bouncy houses, face painting and all kinds of fun and the best part of all is it was FREE!!!
One of the best things was the wind on Saturday because it was great kite flying weather and Peace 107 were judges in the contest. We handed out kite kits to put together and many people brought their own and had them high in the air! Let me just say there are some great kite flyers here in Bryan/College Station!
We awarded 4 trophies: Most Creative, Highest Flying, Judges Favorite and Fan Favorite.
Thanks to everyone that came out and enjoyed the Celebration! We can’t wait for next year’s fun! We love you, Peace Family!
