Hi Peace Family! Several of us here at Peace 107/Bryan Broadcasting wanted to adopt some senior residents who have no family in the area and get them gifts this year. We think about children so much during this season that sometimes we forget there are older folks who need a little help this time of year too!
We contacted Fortress Health and Rehab on Rock Prairie and talked to their Activities Coordinator, Von Perry, and she gave us names and items they needed. Things like socks, tshirts, nightgowns, body wash, etc. and we took it from there. Michele McNew and I (Jami Mayberry) delivered the presents last week and I can’t tell you how much it meant to us. I think we both got a little choked up.
I want to encourage you to do something for a stranger this year to brighten their Christmas. Whether it’s an angel on our Angel Trees or residents of a Retirement Center or maybe a neighbor who you know lives alone. There are so many people that need to know they are not forgotten and that somebody cares this Christmas. Pray about it and see what God would have you do this year.
Maybe you can make it a family project or a learning moment for your own children to know there are people less fortunate that you can reach out to. Whatever you decide to do, do it with a good spirit and a pure heart and God will honor that.
Merry Christmas, Peace Family!
