Peace family, when was the last time that someone said something to you right when you needed to hear it? When was the last time that you said something encouraging to someone else?
Today, God ministered to me through a friend’s text of a silly picture of the minions from Despicable Me saying “It’s Friday!” All she said was that she hoped I had a wonderful and blessed day. She didn’t know it, but I was feeling pretty blue today, and, as simple as her message was, it spoke volumes: I’m thinking of you, I care about you, you are worth taking the time to send a silly message to.
The Devil and the world are always lying about God, and also about who we are and what our value is. Let’s combat that garbage by making a conscious effort to speak value and truth over the people in our lives.
If encouraging others is something that’s hard for you, I want to encourage you that stepping outside of your comfort zone is worth it. No matter how together someone else seems, you never know when a kind “Just thinking of you” or “‘I’m thankful for you because …” could make all the difference in someone’s day, even if they never let you know that it did. You yourself are a precious and deeply loved child of God. You can do it!
Anyway, just few thoughts from your friendly, neighborhood Kat.
