Hi Peace Family! Jami Mayberry here and one of my favorite things to do is watch fireworks. I don’t know why, but when I see the bursts of colors and patterns in the sky I feel like I turn into a 5 year old. “Oh wow…..ahhhhhh…..look at that one!!” They are so fun to watch. Kids love to see fireworks and I think there is a part of moms and dads that love to see them too. Just for a moment you can leave the cares of the world behind and celebrate our great nation’s independence. Each year it’s a chance to stop and just enjoy a few hours with your family and friends. It makes me feel glad to be alive in this moment with these people in this country. We have so much to be thankful for!
I hope you will get a chance to join us this year at the George Bush Library for FREE fireworks. They begin around 8:30 or 9:00 pm. They symphony plays along with the fireworks and it is spectacular. The museum will be open all day with FREE admission for everyone. There’s a Kid’s Zone and there will be concessions starting at 5:00 pm.
You are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and pack a picnic basket full of yummy food and drinks for the family. I personally think watermelon should be involved. It’s just not the 4th without it! The only things not allowed are pets and glass containers.
It’s also a great time to grab your camera or phone and take lots of pictures. I have so many family photos, especially when we were young, of fun on the 4th of July. I am so grateful and happy to be living here in Bryan/College Station and to be a part of this happy day with you. God Bless America and God Bless You, Peace Family!
