Peace family, today I just felt like you might need to hear that you are loved and you are forgiven by God.
There are so many things that make this time of year delightful and magical, but it can also be very stressful and hectic. Everything is in a different rhythm, the weather keeps changing back and forth, the expectations are high, the presents need to be bought, food needs to be prepared, homes need to be cleaned and decorated, and spending time with difficult family or co-workers can be especially stressful. It can leave you tired and feeling like a failure, especially if you notice yourself not behaving in the way that you wish you would.
I want to remind you that there is grace for you! God knows we aren’t perfect. That’s why He sent Jesus: because Jesus could be perfect and pay the price for our failures. Jesus came so that we could understand God’s love. Instead of being overwhelmed with condemnation, I want you to be overwhelmed by the love that God has for you! The Bible says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9
Peace family, there are so many reasons that this is called “the most wonderful time of the year,” but the most wonderful reason is Jesus. As Linus told Charlie Brown, that’s what Christmas is all about.
Anyway, just a few thoughts from your friendly, neighborhood Kat.
