Hi Peace Family! Jami Mayberry here and I was just thinking what a difference a year makes. I have been dealing with a broken garage door clicker for about a week now. Which means when I get home I have to park in the driveway, go in the front door, go to the garage and press the button to open the garage door, go back outside and get in the car and drive it in the garage. Every morning I have to do the same thing in reverse. It’s an inconvenience for sure! But it made me realize how grateful I am for that to be my biggest problem right now! This time last year I was recovering from cancer treatment and it’s side effects and worrying if my one year mark cancer free would hold in remission. Realizing that, it put everything into perspective. REALLY.
If that is my biggest problem right now then I have a blessed life! Every day people struggle and suffer with all kinds of circumstances. What is your biggest right now? Is it life threatening? Or is it more along the lines of the garage door clicker? I’m not saying dealing with broken things not working like they should is easy. It’s inconvenient and can up your stress level. But for me, I just realized I didn’t have a garage for 17 years while I lived in a townhouse. I used to dream of having a little one car garage. I daydreamed how much easier it would make my life. Well, I have that garage today and am so grateful for it!
So….there’s an inconvenience. It’s not the end of the world. And it’s not cancer. I’d say things are going pretty good. Which is my point. If you have a garage or a home and car and a family that loves each other and money to buy groceries, healthy kids etc then you are rich. Blessed beyond measure. I encourage you not to let the little things bother you. Even a garage door clicker. Especially a garage door clicker. Just reminding you today that you are loved and blessed, Peace Family!
