One of the best parts of spring is seeing the flowers, grass and trees wake up again after a long winter. I especially like the irises because they come back on their own year after year. You plant the bulb once and then each spring they sprout and bloom. It’s a tangible, physical sign of renewal and that winter is over for the year. It reminds me of God’s faithfulness. Each time I see an iris or other perennial flower blooming I think, “God is so faithful!”
It’s a symbol to me of God fulfilling so many of His promises in the Bible. Verses like,
“…Weeping may endure for the night, but joy comes in the morning.” Psalm 30:5
“He is as the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning without clouds, when the tender grass springs out of the earth, through sunshine after rain.” 2 Samuel 23:4
“They are new every morning; great is Thy faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:23
“He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.” Daniel 2:21
“Praise the LORD, everything he has created, everything in all his kingdom. Let all that I am praise the LORD.” Psalm 103:22
So look around you, Peace Family. There are signs of God’s faithfulness in all of creation. And it is beautiful this time of year!
