Peace family, do you ever just get plumb tuckered out?
I know I sure do. Today in fact, I am dragging. Tasks you need to do seem to take so much longer, and you’ll finally start focusing on a project, when next thing you know, you’ve been thinking about cupcakes for who knows how long! (Well, at least I do!)
I had a really difficult time trying to fall asleep last night (part of it was probably due to me exercising and eating too much, too late at night), but then, even once I fell asleep, I had nightmares. They weren’t the really scary kind; just fairly tense and stressful. It wasn’t the best sequence of events to help me start the day on the right foot!
Peace family, do you know what’s good about a day like today? It reminds me that God’s grace is sufficient for me. Thank goodness that everything isn’t all up to us and how well we perform, how perfect life feels, or how well we seem to hold it all together.
If you are struggling today, hang in there, sister! Hold on there, brother! God is there for you, and he will keep the world and your day going, and might even use you to minister to others (!) despite your weakness. His power is made perfect in our weakness, and when we are humbled and submitted to him, especially when it’s hard, He can do some amazing things that we will know for sure are a direct result of having him in our lives, because we definitely couldn’t have done them on our own.
So Peace family, keep up the good work. God will not abandon you. In Matthew 11:28-30, Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” If not in your bodies, may each of you find the deep rest and assurance in your souls that is given to you through Jesus Christ.
