This is such a great time of year! If you have planted a vegetable garden this year then you are seeing the fruits of your labor in full growing/ripening mode. Isn’t it exciting?! Here at Bryan Broadcasting we’ve already had people bring in squash and onions and we are waiting on the homegrown tomatoes! What a treat the taste of homegrown vegetables are. They just can’t be beat!
It made me think of how God must delight in the growth and maturation of His children. Each time we reach a new stage of faith and understanding and grow closer to him I picture it like we are His garden. He gave us the Word of God in the Bible to nourish us and feed out souls and help us to grow. Since He is our Father, I can’t help but think He has a father’s pride and satisfaction in our growth.
So if you have a garden this year, I hope you will be reminded that the satisfaction you get from seeing it bloom and grow is how your Father feels about you. Well done, good and faithful servant! You did not grow weary in well-doing but have kept the course. Now you are blooming in season for His glory. Good job!
And, in the course of the life of your garden this year, don’t forget to share your bounty with friends, family and co-workers. There is nothing like homegrown!
