Peace family, Gary Roe is a local counselor, pastor, and abuse survivor, and I really enjoy reading his blog. This week’s entry is about the illusion of control, and I felt like it was really powerful! You can read it by clicking HERE.
Sometimes it can be so hard to sort out what is in our control and what isn’t; not only that, but I see, read, or hear about so many negative things that are out of my control on a regular basis, that sometimes it can get really discouraging! You know what though? Thank goodness that God is all powerful! Also, even if I can’t control what happens, I can control what I focus on.
A Bible verse I am trying to meditate on today is Philippians 4:8, which says “ Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (ESV) I want to have that memorized and at the top of my mind, for whenever anything that is not these things is put in my face!
Anyway, I hope you have a wonderful day and that Gary’s blog helps to encourage you! Just a few thoughts from your friendly, neighborhood Kat.
