Peace family, we have entered the 6th month of the year, and although we are off to a bit of a rough start with the weather, there is so much to look forward to, and the rain has made the temperatures cooler than usual, which is nice.
June, being the sixth month and about half way through the year, is a great time to re-examine goals for the year and how you are doing spiritually, physically, emotionally, socially, and mentally. If 2016 hasn’t been that great so far, don’t give up. There’s no reason that things can’t turn around!
When I took some time to look back to my journal entries for the beginning of the year, my main goals were to stop worrying, spend less time of facebook and more in prayer, to hear God better, and above all else, to focus on Who God is instead of What God is doing, therefore having greater trust, faithfulness, and hope for the future. I also had some other goals, such as being a better piano player, being a better employee, and editing a (horrible) novel that I wrote in 2014. Although I haven’t accomplished as much as I would like, I have definitely grown closer to God! It’s also good to realign my focus as I enter the second half of the year, and reminds me where to put my energy.
Peace family, have you noticed some of the victories you’ve had this year? Do you have some areas where you can realign your focus? Do you have some goals to get cracking on? You still have six whole months, and God is with you! If you are like me and can’t always remember, checking back through your journal or asking a loved one is a great way to remember where you were hoping to go this year. God has made and blessed this year. Let’s make 2016 a good one!
