Peace Family I am always amazed at the life and energy that is the 5th floor of the Crystal Park Plaza. That is where the offices and on-air broadcast studios are for Bryan Broadcasting. And it never ceases to amaze me how life is so beautifully happening all around me!
One of our wonderful receptionists, Maricella, is getting married on Saturday. Yes, MARRIED! I had forgotten the excitement, planning and frayed nerves that go on right before a wedding! But I see Maricella handling it so graciously. Her faith and quiet spirit inspire me to be more like that. She just glows when she tells the story of how they met and fell in love. I am so glad to see this life changing moment in her life.
Today is the birthday of Ebony, a DJ on our sister station, Candy 95. She is at an amazing time in her life too. She moved here from Alaska for her radio job and is just blooming in Texas. I see her working hard and establishing goals and it reminds me of being in my 20s. So much potential and excitement about the future and what lies ahead. We decorated her office with balloons and wished her a wonderful next year of living her dreams.
I see Kat on a life changing trip to the Holy Lands…Israel. Anyone who has been knows how it changes your perspective on the Bible and the stories you’ve read all your life. It becomes more real when you actually see the tomb where they laid the body of Jesus or see Bethlehem and it’s beauty. It deepens your faith in such an amazing way.
We also stand with our newsman, Patrick, who lost his father this week when he fell and suffered a brain injury. To see someone you work with and care about lose a parent is heartbreaking. We are all keeping in touch with him as he spends time with family in San Antonio during this time of mourning and loss. Please keep Patrick and his whole family in your prayers and thoughts as he navigates through this life changing event.
So, there you have it. One week at Bryan Broadcasting. With over 70 employees there is always something happening. Some things happy, some things sad. But I can see God’s grace in it all. Can you look around you and see others walking out their lives? What an honor to be a part of it and support them as it happens. I think that’s what Jesus would do. Walk beside others during the good and bad times and offer love and grace. I want to encourage you to let Jesus shine through you this week in a compassionate, caring way to those around you. We are His hands.
