Peace family, just in case you need a reminder today, no matter what is going on in your life or in the world, Christ will be victorious!
It can be so easy to feel overwhelmed with the wickedness in the world, or just the struggles of life, but this morning when I was reading John 1, I really appreciated this verse; “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5 NIV) That’s Jesus, and how comforting it was to remember those words!
No matter how dark the darkness is, darkness cannot put out a candle. No matter how dark the world’s spiritual darkness becomes, God’s truth and his love for us cannot be snuffed out. Satan might be powerful for a time, and look like he is winning several battles against the church, but Christ will ultimately win the war.
We might feel personally overwhelmed from time to time, but we can count on the fact that God is not overwhelmed. We can shine in the darkness, too, as we grow closer to him, obey him, and submit our lives to him.
No matter how unstable things might get, no matter how rejected we feel by strangers, friends, or family, God is still God. Let’s give our burdens to him, and trust him, today.
