Hi Peace Family! I hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas and are ready to make 2017 a great year. The end of the year always makes me reflective and I’ve had several amazing experiences in 2016 but this is at the top of them.
A lady named Babs Furia was diagnosed with the same kind of cancer I had. It’s very rare and she couldn’t find anyone else who had survived it. Her friend Monica, also a cancer survivor, got online and found a blog I had written for MD Anderson Cancer Center. She contacted Babs and told her, “I found someone!” Well, Babs was able to contact me and we have become great friends…an unbreakable bond. A few weeks ago I was able to fly out to California and spend time with Babs and her husband, Mark. One night while I was there, Monica came over for dinner. We must have talked, the three of us, for a couple hours. Here’s a photo of Babs, Monica and me. Three lives united by cancer and the internet. What an amazing experience!
I encourage you to be open to God using you in any circumstance you find yourself in. Even in a bad one, like being diagnosed with a disease, he can use you to touch other people’s lives. Reach out and be a willing vessel in 2017!
