Peace Family, over the weekend, I stumbled across an older French song called, “Cherche la Rose,” that encouraged me to “look for the rose.” In it, the singer names multiple situations where hope would be very difficult to come by, but always comes back to repeating “search for the rose.”
We all know the phrase, “every rose has its thorns,” but when your life feels full of thorns, are you remembering to look for the rose?
It can be easy to get overwhelmed by the negative, whether in our personal lives, looking at what’s happening around the world, or even just what’s happening in America. No one likes coming face to face with suffering, but sometimes, it’s unavoidable.
I don’t want to trivialize suffering, but I’m trying to realign my perspective to look for good things in the midst of suffering. No matter what else is going on, believers can always have hope in looking to our future with Christ in Heaven as a positive. Focusing on Him and how powerful He is, often aids us in looking for whatever is still beautiful during painful circumstances. Many of the Psalms express a similar sentiment.
So, Peace Family, if you are feeling entangled by thorns, take courage. Take time to read some Psalms today. Share with a friend and let him or her pray for you. Know that your friends at Peace 107 are praying for you today. Remember that God is with you, and “search for the rose.”
