Peace family, what were you made for?
My cats recently went to live with my parents on the family farm after one of my mom’s cats died and her other cat became so lonely that he wasn’t eating. Although they were very happy living with me indoors, it is amazing how much they have flourished out on the farm! They are catching bugs and mice, climbing on the roof, nibbling on grass, sleeping on the sun-bathed porch and just having an all-around country-cat good time! Not only that, they have been a tremendous encouragement to my mom’s little old man cat.
Even though I miss them, it has been so good to see how happy they are; they are doing what God designed them to do, so of course they love it, and others benefit from it, too!
Peace family, you also were designed with a purpose. We all were designed to love and glorify God, to love others, and to draw others into a relationship with God, but God didn’t stop there. He made you with all of your special gifts and preferences for a reason. Even though a lot of the time, we have this idea that we have to find some perfect job in which we use all of our gifts and feel fulfilled, I want to encourage you to think outside of the box and consider that your occupation and your vocation don’t necessarily have to be the same thing.
What brings you the most peace and joy in your life? Is there a way that you can volunteer or help others by doing it?
Even if there doesn’t seem to be any way you could do what you’d love to do, think about it and pray about it. God is a God of miracles, and just recently, God really showed me some new ways that I can serve and find more fulfillment, and it’s an awesome feeling! My prayer is that God will speak to you this week in a special way that encourages you in your identity and skills.
Anyway, just a few thoughts from your friendly, neighborhood Kat.
