Peace Family Sunday is the day we honor our Mothers, Grandmothers and ‘Other Mothers’ of all kinds. If you were blessed to grow up in a Christian home it’s probably because of your Mom. They set the tone for the whole family. Yes, the father is the head of the house but mothers are the heart and soul of the home. Honor her today (if she is still with us) or remember her on Sunday, May 10th. It will mean the world to your mom!
Is Mother’s Day a sad day for you? Maybe you just lost your mother or maybe you never had a mom. Was she absent or undependable? Not every mother is ready for the job or has problems that keep her from being her best. You can honor her anyway. Or make it a day to honor whoever took that place in your life and heart. Mothers come in many shapes and sizes. I have a friend whose Dad raised her by himself and every Mother’s Day she send HIM a card! What a great idea!
I want to encourage you to be the best mother you can possibly be. It takes Jesus and a willing heart. Motherhood is never easy, but it is the most rewarding thing you will ever do. Having a child has a way of changing all your priorities. They come first. It certainly requires a level of unselfishness that you’ve never experienced before. If you are a new mom I want to celebrate YOU today! Enjoy all the small, little perfect moments and hold on to them. They will help you through the hard times. If you haven’t heard this in a while, WE APPRECIATE YOU MOMS!
WE LOVE YOU AND HONOR YOU, MOTHERS FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO AND EVERYTHING YOU ARE!
