Hi Peace Family it’s Jami Mayberry with a question for you. Has a teacher made an impact on you or your children’s lives? Here’s your chance to thank a teacher! National Teacher Day is May 5th and we celebrate teachers the whole week!
I am getting a special treat in June. I will be going home to Amarillo for the first time in years and two of my favorite teachers from grade school, Mrs. Pedigo and Mr. Brock, have agreed to meet me for lunch. It’s a once in a lifetime treat for me to be able to tell them what an impact they made on the 11 and 12 year old me. I had a rough childhood and they were both pillars of stability and strength for me during that time. I’m not sure they know how much they meant to me, but I will get a chance to tell them at lunch. I hope it will make them feel that they really made a difference in my life because they did! Mrs. Pedigo found me on Facebook. When I was in her class I use to get checks on my report card for talking too much in class. When she read I was a radio DJ she wrote me a note and said, “Hello little Jami. I see you’re still talking!” Ha It was so good to have contact with her again!
Use today’s technology and find that special teacher and tell them thanks. It’s easier than ever to find people on the internet. If they are still living they will appreciate hearing from you!
Teachers give us so much! And though we know we can’t ever thank them enough, we can take a moment and share our appreciation for the special educators in your life.
