Peace Family it’s the hottest week of the year so far and…my A/C went out in my house! It was 91 degrees inside my house Wednesday night. Never have I appreciated air conditioning so much as I took a cold bath to cool down. I know, I know…first world problem. And think of all the people around the world that don’t have it at all. Millions have never felt the luxury of air conditioning. But me, having known the comfort of cool air blowing from a vent in the ceiling, missed it more than I thought I could. The good news is I am getting it fixed Friday, so I will have a cool weekend ahead.
This experience showed me how much we don’t even realize the good things in our lives. There is an old saying, “You never know what you’ve got until it’s gone.” That is truer than true about air conditioning. And it made me wonder how many more things I took for granted. Things and circumstances and even people at times. Haven’t we all been blessed with friends and family that make our life so much fuller and bring so much into our lives? I am so grateful for everyone and everything, in a whole new way.
I encourage you to realize, in the midst of whatever your life is lacking, just how much you have to be thankful for. You are blessed! A grateful heart goes a long way towards enjoying this life God has given you. My prayer for you this holiday weekend is that while you’re celebrating this nation’s independence and birthday, you will also look around you and see how full your life is. And for heaven’s sake, KNOW what you’ve got before it’s gone! We love you, Peace Family!
