Hey Peace Family! Need a story to inspire you today? This is truly amazing…
My older sister had a baby at 16 years old. She quit high school, married the father and after a few years of unhappiness, divorced. Due to circumstances beyond her control (and I won’t share our family’s dirty laundry!) her husband was awarded custody of her son.
She saw him sporadically over the years but it was difficult. My grandmother stayed in touched with his other grandmother (grandparents can sometimes get along when parents can’t….) and it was a bridge for our family to stay up to date on him…Kristopher Adam Lancaster. His father and stepmother did a wonderful job raising him but I think it had more to do with the determination and strength inside of him.
After high school he joined the Navy and quickly rose up the ranks. Here is some of what he’s done:
Congressional Liason at Assistant Secnav (Financial Management & Comptroller)
Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Financial Management and Comptroller)
Air Command and Staff College, Montgomery AL
Washington D.C. Metro Area
A few weeks ago we found out that Kristopher has just been named:
Commander of the USS Pensylvania (SSBN-735). It is an Ohio class ballistic missile submarine….a NUCLEAR submarine.
I am stunned at the level of his accomplishments. He had a very rough start to life and the odd were against him from the start. I don’t know how he’s done this but I am very proud. I have had very little interaction with him but I want to reach out and let him know how proud I am of the man he’s become. And of course joke with him that it’s hard to believe someone in the Mayberry bloodline has his finger that close to nuclear weapons. Ha Ha
All this to say, I can see the hand of God all over this man’s life. He is happily married with kids and has a strong faith and love of God and his country.
If you wonder about a situation in your life where you are going against the odds I’m here to tell you the odds CAN be beat. I mean…his Auntie Jami survived a rare form of cancer and his been cancer free for 3 years. You have to fight for what you want. I hope this story will help you in your fight today. Take heart.
