Peace family, shopping this week, I’ve noticed that stores are stocking up. First come the college students at the beginning of August, next come all of the shoppers for kids from kindergarten to 12th grade! It can be a little intimidating, especially if you’re an introvert but still need to buy anything in public!
As we experience the last weeks of summer break, it’s a great time not only to stock up on whatever you need that might sell out during the back-to-school rush, but also to prepare your heart. It’s a great time to think about how we can serve our local students this school year. Do you a know a student that you can encourage? Do you want to give to a school supply drive? Do you want to donate furniture to international students, or maybe even be a student host family, or an Aggie lunch or conversation pal? Maybe you can even simply make a resolution to be more encouraging and patient with the students that you already have in your life, or to commit yourself to praying for students and teachers.
There are so many ways to get involved, and many local churches already have opportunities in place to help you get involved in loving students well and drawing them closer to Christ. Take some time, pray, and ask God if he has any ideas for how you can make a difference for students this school year!
