Hi Peace Family! We have rain in the forecast all week here in Bryan/College Station. How do you react to the rain? Some people like it, others not so much. I guess it’s all in how you look at it. When I was growing up my mom always called rainy days ‘good sleeping weather’. Some want to stay inside and read a book. Others don’t mind getting out in it. Some people feel melancholy. The rain can bring on memories of people we have lost that are still near to our hearts or it makes you reflective. From a practical outlook, the only thing we have to worry about in Brazos County is possible flooding. Especially during heavy rains or weeks like this one where there is a chance of rain every day. Some road get covered in water. Driving can be tricky.
Whatever your reaction to rainy days I hope you will let Peace 107 be a part of it. And remember to keep your ‘Wellies’ or galoshes close to the door and your umbrella handy. Rain is a natural part of the weather in South Texas. If we live here, it’s part of the deal. But doesn’t it make everything greener and more beautiful? And our flowers bloom and our yards grow.
So, however you deal with rainy days, God is with you reminding you of how He washes us and cleans us up because He loves us. He wants you to grow and be the best ‘you’ that you can be. Sometimes, that takes rain. And winds. And storms. The process at times is not fun, but the result is beautiful! So starting today I challenge you to ask God to wash your soul with His holy rain. His work in you is not done and probably won’t be until you leave this world. But it doesn’t have to make you miserable. Look at the big picture and keep your sense of humor.
As for me, I think I’ll use this as good sleeping weather and And I’ll keep my rain boots handy!
