Peace family, there is an African proverb that says “The daughter of a lion is also a lion.” (Of course, this logic applies to sons as well.)
If you are feeling weak, disrespected, insecure, unloved, or unprotected today, I want to encourage you to remember who your Heavenly Father is. The Bible calls Jesus “The Lion of Judah,” and Peace Family, he is powerful!
One of my favorite scenes from Disney’s The Lion King, is the part where the hero, Simba, is discouraged because he has been living as a disgraced prince, believing lies about himself, and is separated from the kingdom where he is the rightful heir. At the climax of his pain, his father appears in the sky and tells him, “Remember who you are!”
Simba might be the child of a king in the story, but YOU are the child of the greatest King in real life!
That scene has stayed with me, so much that I printed off a coloring sheet and put it on my refrigerator to remind me of my identity as a child of God. Peace family, I hope you have a deeper confidence in your own identity as God’s beloved child, who he fights for, today.
Anyway, just a few thoughts from your friendly, neighborhood Kat.
