Peace family, what areas of your life need restoration? This is just a short reminder that God is the ultimate restorer!
I’ve been reading a devotional book called Where God Finds You, by Anita Higman, and today’s lesson covered the story of Tabitha (also known as Dorcas).
Acts 9:36-42 tells us that Tabitha was always doing good and helping the poor in her town, so much that when she got sick and died, the widows stood around crying and showing Peter numerous robes and clothing that she had made for them. Peter prayed and she was restored to life, and many people became believers because of it.
Just rereading that story this morning struck a chord with me. How hopeless and helpless those widows must have felt, when the woman who had loved them, provided for them and been their advocate fell sick and died! Conversely, how joyful they must have felt when God decided to bring her back!
Even though most of the time, God chooses not to raise people from the dead (even if we love them deeply and they have served well), there are still miracles all around us and in our painful circumstances, even if we have difficulty seeing them. Peace family, God is still using our places of loss to bring about something beautiful. God can still use them for his glory.
Peace family, my prayer for you today, is that God would restore you from every painful and broken place, and bring healing to the areas where you are hurting. He is a good God, and restoration has always been his business. Anyway, just a few thoughts from your friendly, neighborhood Kat.
