Peace family, do you want to know better ways to use your retirement time, talents and treasures for the glory of God?
Associate Pastor David Strawn for First Baptist Church College Station says they are offering a seminar this Saturday (January 10), which will start at 10 a.m. and last until about 3 p.m.
He says there will be speakers from the International Mission Board to share about foreign missions, representatives from children’s homes to talk about different ways people can volunteer to assist children in struggling areas, and speakers from camps to share how retirees can volunteer their time at youth camps. He says there will also be people from an American organization that assists struggling churches in Europe, particularly England, to a point that the churches can eventually have their own pastors.
Strawn says there will also be sessions about fitness in retirement, how to stay healthy and keep your body fit, as well as help with issues that come up in marital and family relationships during retirement.
To register, call 979-696-7000. Strawn asks that people RSVP so that they will know how much lunch they need to provide. Pay at the door $20 per person, or $30 per person, and lunch is provided.
