Have you caught your breath yet from the end of school, graduation and the three day weekend? We are now officially (or unofficially) into summer and with the kids out of school it’s usually a busy time for families. Vacations are coming, which requires more planning and work than your kids will ever know. I wanted to encourage you to take a moment to slow down and catch your breath. You deserve it!
Peace Family, life is like they instruct us on any airplane flight…secure your oxygen mask over your own face before attempting to place one on your child’s. That can take on different meaning to different people. What gives you rest and refreshment? Is it working out or taking a walk alone? Reading a book that takes you away from all your earthly cares? Spending a weekend away with friends? Maybe having one morning all to yourself to read your Bible and meditate on God’s goodness and grace? Whatever it is that helps you recharge your batteries that is what I encourage you to do.
We ALL need that from time to time. Especially if you are the glue that holds your family together. How can you be an effective wife, husband or parent when you are constantly frazzled and at your wits end? I have been there more times than I care to admit. So today, SLOW DOWN, take some DEEP BREATHS, and let your spirit be refreshed by the renewing of your mind. The Bible is a great oasis of comfort and knowledge to help feel our souls. And maybe a little time at the pool or lake or shopping will help too!
Have a great summer, Peace Family, and remember to slow down from time to time and take care of yourself. We need you to be the best you can be!
