Students Sing For Teacher With Cancer

July 22, 2015 by Jami Mayberry

Choir Teacher with cancer

Peace Family here is a story that will touch your heart. A choir teacher who was diagnosed with breast cancer was surprised by her students with a redition of the song “I’m Gonna Love You Through It” by Martina McBride. This is your uplifting story of the day!

School choir serenades cancer-stricken teacher

A New York teacher diagnosed with breast cancer still gave students her all in the classroom, and they thanked her in the sweetest way.

Adriana Lopez, a teacher at PS 22 in Staten Island, New York, was pleasantly surprised when the school’s chorus serenaded her with a rendition of Martina McBride’s survival anthem, “I’m Gonna Love You Through It.”

The choir wanted to show Lopez that her bravery and dedication to her students even while battling breast cancer was a huge inspiration.

PS 22 Chorus has won the hearts of many through the years after appearances on shows such as Oprah (twice!) and celebrity shout-outs.

But the biggest fan of all right now is probably Lopez.
