The Grizzly Awards has launched voting for their 3rd annual awards, celebrating faith-based rock and metal that was released in 2021. Fans can vote now through February 20 by clicking here.
This year is The Grizzly Awards’ first as a 501(c)3 certified non-profit. They have announced that they are welcoming sponsorships for the event, which will take place at the end of March.
“This has been a year of intentionally seeking sustainability, and you’ll see that reflected in our categories,” shares Mary Nikkel on behalf of The Grizzlies team, which also includes Joel Burris and Cindy Blankenship. “Like so many others in our music community, each of the three of us has faced intense personal challenges and growth over the past year. That has required us to evaluate how we want The Grizzly Awards to grow– to become something much bigger than awards in the long term. That means using this year to begin establishing the financial stability needed for a fledgling non-profit.”
Focusing on 15 key categories, The Grizzly Awards categories represent more than 50 artists and creatives who released outstanding projects in 2021. Major staple categories include Rock Album of the Year and categories recognizing scream and clean vocalists, guitarists, bassists, drummers, and producers. New categories Arts & Cultural, which celebrates five landmark events, and Braveheart Song of the Year, which highlights songs that take a forthright stance on personal beliefs.
“Although these categories are by no means exhaustive, we do believe that they’re a great way to continue laying the foundation for what The Grizzly Awards will continue to become, shaped by this passionate community,” Mary explains. “At the end of the day, we know that no award could adequately recognize the lives changed, the hope imparted, through these songs. But we continue to humbly invite anyone who has been moved by these songs to use The Grizzly Awards as an opportunity to simply say thank you.”
