Peace Family this is such a busy time of year it can be a bit overwhelming. In the midst of starting a new school year, the coming of fall, football season upon us and all the new beginnings there has to be a way to stay centered and hold on to your peace. This is Jami Mayberry, and for me, it’s God’s Word. It’s where I turn when I get overwhelmed and am reaching for the keys that will help me. I want to encourage you during this busy season that God has His plan in all of this and has everything under control. Even when it seems like you are living in a big bowl of chaos.
Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Let this be your memory verse. Memorize it and hold it in your heart. Then you can whisper it to yourself in times of stress or just not knowing what the future holds…which is pretty much most of the time now days. This verse became one of my favorites when I made a move to Southern California for a radio job. My family was against it and felt it was ‘too dangerous out there for me’. I really felt in my soul that God was leading me there and that the job offer at the first CCM station there would change my life. I was hoping God would use me in a powerful way. Jeremiah 29:11 was the verse I stood on and clung to during that time and it gave me peace. It turned out to be the right decision and I spent 5 years there growing in my faith and learning how to follow God’s lead in my life and radio career.
Also let the uplifting and encouraging music we play of Peace 107 be a reminder of God’s love for you and every little detail of you and your family’s life. He cares about you and knows your needs. Remembering this can be the key to peace in these times of new starts and transitions. Just listening to something other than the news (which can be unsettling) is a step in the right direction towards peace.
So, find a verse (or use this one) and hold onto it through whatever this fall brings. And remember we will be here supporting you and encouraging you on Peace 107. We love you Peace Family!
